Dr. Penelope Thomas

Meet Dr. Thomas

Dr. Thomas arrived in Australia from England in 2002. She went on to complete her training as an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist in Queensland and NSW, becoming a Fellow in 2015.

Initially working as a public specialist and educator, Dr. Thomas opened her private practice in 2017. Passionate about the importance of empathic communication and family values, she joined the team at Hunter Women’s Health Centre. She continues to teach at local workshops, assesses international graduates, and has an additional interest in ultrasound.

Dr. Thomas provides care from puberty onwards, encompassing pregnancy and the spectrum of gynaecologic disorders. She feels blessed to support women throughout their journey, and provides individualised, up-to-date care and information.

Her particular interests include ultrasound, colposcopy and cervical disorders, vulval disorders, contraception, bleeding problems, prolapse and incontinence. Dr. Thomas believes understanding and choice are of paramount importance and she will strive to make sure you are clear on your options for management of your concerns.
